12. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to the device used for browsing, where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites during subsequent visits.
For the purposes of this document, the term “cookie” also includes similar technologies used to collect or store information on the user’s device.
13. Types of cookies used by the website
The website may use the following categories of cookies or similar tools:
- technical or strictly necessary cookies;
- preference cookies;
- analytics cookies;
- any third-party services integrated into the website.
Unless otherwise specified, the website does not use its own advertising profiling cookies.
14. Technical cookies
Technical cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and do not require the user’s consent.
They may be used, for example, to:
- allow normal website browsing;
- remember technical preferences;
- ensure website security;
- manage the user session;
- store preferences expressed through the cookie banner;
- support the correct functioning of the contact form.
Failure to use such cookies may affect website functionality.
15. Contact form
The website provides a contact form through which users may request information or send communications.
The use of the form does not serve profiling purposes.
Any cookies or technical tools connected to the form are used exclusively to ensure the proper sending of the request, service security, and prevention of abuse or unauthorised automated submissions.
16. Google Analytics
The website may use Google Analytics to collect statistical information about website use, such as the number of visitors, pages viewed, time spent on the website, device type, and general interaction patterns with content.
Such data are used to analyse and improve website performance.
Google’s documentation states that GA4 web implementations may use first-party cookies, including the _ga cookie, to distinguish users and sessions.
Google Analytics is activated only with the user’s prior consent, where required by applicable law and depending on the technical configuration adopted on the website.
In the absence of consent, this service must not be activated.
17. Google Fonts
The website may use Google Fonts to display web fonts.
If fonts are loaded from Google servers, this may involve the communication of technical data, such as the IP address and request-related information, to the service providers.
According to Google’s official documentation, the Google Fonts API does not set or log cookies; however, loading fonts may still involve the processing of technical data required to provide the service.
To reduce this data flow to third parties, the Data Controller may choose to host fonts locally.
18. Consent management
On first access to the website, users may be shown a specific banner for managing preferences relating to cookies and any non-essential tracking tools.
Through this banner, users should be able to:
- accept all non-essential cookies;
- reject all non-essential cookies;
- selectively choose which categories may be activated.
Users may change or withdraw their preferences at any time through the appropriate link available on the website, for example in the footer.
19. Indicative list of cookies and tools used
The actual list of cookies and active tools on the website may vary depending on the technical configuration, consent banner settings and updates to the services used.
For indicative purposes, the website may use:
- session cookies;
- technical consent cookies;
- any cookies associated with Google Analytics, activated only after consent;
- technical requests to Google Fonts, if fonts are loaded remotely.
20. Managing cookies through the browser
Users may also manage cookie preferences through their browser settings, including blocking or deleting, in whole or in part, cookies already installed.
Disabling technical cookies may affect the proper functioning of the website.
